The McDowell Lady Titans split a pair of junior varsity contests late last week.
On Thursday, McDowell was defeated by Watauga 31-15. Nicole Mills and Jessica Patrick scored four points each in a losing effort. Shellie Riddle added three points. Jocelyn Conley and Taylor Miller netted two points each.
On Friday, The Lady Titans recovered and picked up their first win of the season, defeating Patton 36-18.
Nicole Mills led McDowell with 12 points. Taylor Miller added eight points. Shellie Riddle and Jessica Patrick added six points each.
McDowell 53, Watauga 35 (jayvee boys)
The McDowell Titans jayvees continued to build on their hot start, picking up a 53-35 win Thursday at Watauga.
Three McDowell players recorded double figures in scoring. Ethan Freeman led the Titans with 13 points. Cedarius Avery added 12 and Matt Carroll chipped in 11.
Zach Moore scored nine points. Daniel Jackson netted four. Freshmen Heath Anderson and Jared Helms scored two points each.
McDowell 60, Patton 37 (jayvee boys)
Just 24 hours after defeating Watauga, the Titans jayvees showed no signs of fatigue as they dismantled the Patton Panthers jayvees 60-37.
Ethan Freeman and Cedarius Avery tallied 10 points each. Matt Carroll added nine points.
Delanta Rodriguez chipped in seven. Zach Moore and Daniel Jackson netted six points each. Jared Helms scored five points and Grant Robinson added two.
