A former Department of Defense physicist and local educator will sign copies of his new book that criticizes the scientific beliefs of both Charles Darwin and former Vice President Al Gore.
Dan Wise, a North Cove resident, is a retired scientist and educator who served as a physicist for the U.S. Department of Defense for six years. During that time, he also taught space science at the National Cryptologic School at Fort Meade, Md. He has also taught physics, chemistry and biology as well as having served as a school principal. He did contract work for the U.S. Department of Energy at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden, Colo.
Now, Wise takes a critical look at two ideas that are currently popular among his fellow scientists. He has released a new Amazon-listed book titled "The Ism Schism: The Plague of Recurrent 'Scientific' Deceptions."
Wise will sign copies of his work from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the meeting room of the McDowell County Public Library in Marion.
Wise said the book is the result of his frustrations about bad science and its corruption of mankind. He's been working on this book for about a year and a half.
The work focuses on "probably the two most exemplary schemes, based on pseudoscience, that have insidiously warped mindsets for the last couple of centuries."
The book challenges both Darwinism and what Wise calls "Algoreism." He contends that late methods, technologies and revelations of "nefarious goings-on" have allowed for new and fact-driven views on both evolution and the concept of global warming.
Folks who come to Friday's booksigning can talk to Wise about his research. They can also find out how Albert Einstein's theories have reshaped the views of Darwinism and the "missing link." They also learn about "the real Al Gore that maybe you didn't know."
