Bacon, eggs and a side order of ghost?

As we get closer to Halloween, I think it would be appropriate to take a look at some of the weird happenings right in our own county. There's a lot of strange tales in McDowell and one of them concerns a local restaurant.
This popular eatery (which will remain nameless) has been in business in Marion for several years and is known for its good food and service. But both the employees and patrons alike feel that there is something supernatural going on at the place.
Local psychic Angela Moore told me she has seen a ghostly man in the restaurant and objects moving about by themselves. But the oddest thing she's noticed is a loud slamming sound that seems to come from the ceiling in the women's restroom.
"It is so loud at times, then very soft," said Moore. "I felt that there would be a logical explanation but then, it started to respond to me when I asked it too. It has responded to others as well. I think it is more active when it is a dreary day.
"This sound happened one day when I could feel it was going to happen. There was just a creepy feeling of someone in the room. I had heard this sound before, but this time I could feel it. I then asked it as I went out the door if it was really a spirit and not some random sound, to make that sound again, and it did. Well, I thought about it, took out my phone and asked it to do it again as I have a recorder on my phone and hoped to record it. It worked and this time it was very loud. You cannot tell how loud on the phone but it was."
A couple of weeks later, Moore was back at the restaurant and tried to see if she could get the slamming sound to occur again. She asked the spirit if it would make that sound again and the slamming noise was heard twice in rapid succession.
"I have never had it do that," she said. "Also, I have had some clients go in there and sure enough, it did it when they asked. I want to see if I can help this spirit, I have told it so. But to be honest, it takes me a while to get my nerve up. Honestly, I think things are getting more intense out there in the spiritual realm."
Moore said the weird slamming sound from the ceiling has scared several people who have been to the restaurant. She feels that it might be connected to a house that once stood there years ago.
However, the owner of the eatery feels the ghostly happenings might be connected to the nearby road. Perhaps someone was killed on that road many years ago and that unfortunate person's restless spirit has never left the place. The owner said people who come to the restaurant have also seen the ghost of a man in a blue plaid shirt.
"I don't feel my place is haunted but I feel there is some unsettled spirit here," said the owner.

A while ago, this column took a look at the famous Bigfoot hoax that was perpetrated in Georgia. Now, the ape suit that was supposed to be a Sasquatch corpse is drawing more than $200,000 on eBay. And western North Carolina's own Joshua P. Warren might be getting the money from the sale, according to the Associated Press.
The suit was at the center of a hoax cooked up by a former Clayton County, Ga. police officer Matt Whitton and his friend, Rick Dyer. The two held a news conference in August in California with Searching for Bigfoot Inc. director Tom Biscardi, toting photos of the suit and DNA results to prove they had killed the legendary man-ape in the north Georgia mountains.
Eaton, Ind. resident William Lett, who gave Biscardi $50,000 to buy the alleged corpse, is trying to recoup his losses by selling the suit. He's getting help from the Asheville-based Shadowbox Enterprises, owned by author and paranormal researcher Joshua P. Warren, who will keep profits made from the sale. Bidding on the suit closes at midnight today, according to the AP story.
