Authorities say this suspect was already in trouble with the law – so the drugs didn't help his case.
Detective Andy Manis of the McDowell County Sheriff's Office went in search of Michael James Martin, 30, of Rolands Chapel Road in Nebo last Wednesday and found him at the Deal Barn in Nebo.
Manis said Martin was wanted for possessing a scanner/pager reported stolen from the McDowell County Rescue Squad.
When the investigator found Martin last Wednesday at the Deal Barn, the suspect tossed a small bag into a back room, according to Manis.
He added that the bag held 11 grams of methamphetamine.
Martin was charged with possession of stolen goods, possession of drug paraphernalia, felony possession of methamphetamine and possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine. He was taken into custody in lieu of a $36,000 bond.
