Authorities charge man with sex offense

Authorities have arrested a Marion man on charges that he molested a young girl.
Detective Jennifer Trantham of the McDowell County Sheriff's Office charged Timothy Andrew Ledford, 25, of Pine Valley Drive with one count of taking indecent liberties with a child.
Ledford is accused of having inappropriate sexual contact with a 3-year-old girl in mid-October, according to Trantham.
The girl told her grandmother about the incident, and it was then reported to authorities.
Assisting the Sheriff's Office in the investigation were members of the Child Advocacy Center and the Department of Social Services.
