A Marion woman wanted on drug charges was recently located – with more drugs on her, authorities say.

On Oct. 17, Deputy Bryon Crisp of the McDowell County Sheriff's Office stopped a truck on the bypass because only one light was working. The passenger, identified as 24-year-old Brittany Spake Freshour of Farm Hill Drive, seemed nervous, according to Capt. Ricky Crisp.

Bryon Crisp obtained permission to search the vehicle and found a paper towel containing two pills stuffed between the seats, according to the captain.

He added that Freshour admitted the pills – one being Viagra and another a Schedule II controlled substance – were hers.

Bryon Crisp later charged Freshour with felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance.

Freshour wasn't located until Wednesday, Nov. 4, when Bryon Crisp saw her at the Marion Travel Plaza, the captain stated.

The deputy arrested her on the outstanding warrant and transported her to jail.

Once there, jail officials noticed a small bulge in Freshour's pants, which turned out to be a bag containing two small rocks, said Ricky Crisp. The rocks tested positive for methamphetamine, he stated.

Bryon Crisp added the following charges: possession of methamphetamine and possession of a controlled substance in jail. Freshour was taken into custody in lieu of a $22,500 bond.
