Letter to the editor: Letter writer can't get over Obama's win

Published: October 8, 2009

I would like to comment about the last letter written by this paper's Top Letter to the Editor Writer, Jim Duncan. A little research goes a long way.
The "czar" was first used by the Nixon administration. George W. Bush had at least 13 czars, Karl Rove being one of them. So if that makes President Obama a dictator, he isn't the first American dictator who served as president.
As far as people throwing around racism or prejudice, it's not difficult to do when I read or see people blaming President Obama for the condition of the country only months after he took office. Maybe that isn't racism or prejudice. Maybe that is just plain old stupidity.
America didn't lose when Obama won, you lost, Mr. Duncan, and everyone else who voted for someone else. Look around you. There are other people who live in this country and we don't have to agree with you. It would be a communist state if we were forced to vote for someone not of our choice.
Your letters read of hatred, malice and disrespect for anyone who doesn't agree with you. I'm sorry that you have not been able to move on past your loss. But the truth is, the world will keep spinning and this country will continue, whether you like the president or not.
