The McDowell Titans junior varsity football team continued its road through a challenging Mountain Athletic Conference schedule, playing the A.C. Reynolds Rockets last week. But the Rockets proved too much as they defeated McDowell 30-6.
Daniel Searcy scored three touchdowns for A.C. Reynolds.
McDowell (1-7 overall, 1-4 MAC) was able to score on a fourth-quarter drive. Jared Helms made the score 30-6 when he punched in a 3-yard run. Helms finished with 22 yards rushing.
Reshawn Chambers added 30 yards rushing. Quarterback Grant Robinson did have some success in the passing game with 80 yards.
Zach Martin caught two passes for 24 yards and Isaac Martin made one reception for nine yards. Heath Anderson and Derrick Norman caught a pass each.
McDowell is at Enka Thursday (7 p.m. kickoff).
