Investigators say a man came home early from work Monday night to a surprise that eventually left him behind bars.
Lt. Detective Dan Shook of the McDowell County Sheriff's Office said Wiley Keith Clark, 49, of Old Linville Road left work at Baxter Healthcare early Monday night because he wasn't feeling well.
He got to his house around 9:30 or 10 p.m. and found his wife, Myra, at the residence with another man, Darrin Blackwell, according to Shook.
Wiley Clark and Blackwell argued, and a physical altercation erupted, said the lieutenant.
Shook added that Wiley Clark stabbed Blackwell multiple times with a pocketknife.
Blackwell was taken to The McDowell Hospital and transferred to Memorial Mission Hospital, where he was treated for his injuries and released.
Shook charged Wiley Clark with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. He was taken into custody in lieu of a $6,500 bond.
