A Nebo man faces a felony charge after assaulting and choking his wife, authorities say.
Deputy Ronnie Harvey of the McDowell County Sheriff's Office charged 33-year-old Gregory Ray Justice of Holland Drive with felony assault by strangulation and misdemeanor assault on a female.
On the evening of Saturday, Jan. 3, Justice called his wife, Melinda Justice, and told her to come home from work because he had locked himself out of the house, according to Capt. Ricky Crisp of the Sheriff's Office.
Melinda arrived at the residence at 8:45 p.m. and found that her husband had forced his way inside and was sitting on the couch drinking a beer, Crisp stated.
Gregory began assaulting and choking his wife, said the captain. Harvey's report noted that deputies saw marks and bruises on Melinda.
She was taken by ambulance to The McDowell Hospital for treatment of her injuries
