Night out ends with gunfire

Police have issued arrest warrants but have not located the man they say opened fire into his girlfriend's vehicle early Thursday morning during a domestic dispute.
The incident occurred around 2:15 a.m. on U.S. 221 North Business.
Investigator Rick Gutierrez of the Marion Police Department said 37-year-old Timothy Dwayne Suber, who lives in both Charlotte and Shelby, and his girlfriend, 20-year-old Diona Shaneise Tate of Morganton, were in McDowell County visiting relatives.
The two went to Ivan's and got into a domestic dispute, prompting Suber to leave the restaurant on foot, according to Gutierrez. Tate followed him in her vehicle, and they got into another argument on U.S. 221 North Business. That's when Suber brandished a firearm and shot into the vehicle multiple times, the detective stated.
Tate was not hit. She drove off and notified authorities.
"We found several bullet holes in the car," said Gutierrez.
He issued a warrant for Suber's arrest on the felony offense of discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle. However, as of deadline Thursday, the suspect had not been located.
Information about Suber was entered into a nationwide crime database.
Gutierrez said Suber is also wanted in Burke County in connection with a robbery that occurred last year.
