McDowell authorities find New Mexico fugitive living in van
A man living in a van in the northern part of McDowell County will be on his way back to New Mexico to face multiple charges from which he's been running, authorities say.
Acting on a tip, deputies with the McDowell County Sheriff's Office found Cody Austin McMurray, 19, living in the vehicle off Peppers Creek Road, according to Capt. Vic Hollifield.
The captain said McMurray had been using the name Cody McMullen, but, through the tag on the van and officers in New Mexico, local authorities were able to correctly identify him as Cody McMurray.
Sheriff's Office reports state that McMurray is wanted in Lincoln County, N.M. for distributing marijuana, burglary and failure to comply.
