McDowell area church news -- Nov. 24

Christian youth rock band musicians are needed. Those who are experienced in guitar, bass and keyboard, along with male and female vocalists are encouraged to apply by calling Aaron at 803-2335. Details will be provided over the phone.

Faith Baptist Church, located on U.S. 70 East, will have a one-night revival Sunday with a kickoff at 11 a.m. and revival at 6 p.m. Several reverends will be guest speaking. A meal will be served at 8:30 p.m.

Grace Baptist Church will have a fifth Sunday singing this Sunday, featuring "Glory Bound." A holiday meal will follow in the fellowship hall.

Glenwood Baptist Church will perform "The Miracle of Christmas" on Saturday, Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 6 at 3 p.m.

Marion Seventh-day Adventist Church holds a Bible prophecy seminar on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday nights at 7 p.m. Free child care is available for children 9 years and younger. The church is located at 188 Ward Road.

Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church sponsors a food pantry for the public from 6 to 7 p.m. each Wednesday. The church is located at 1496 Jacktown Road. Call 659-2059 or 659-6467 for more information.

Victory Temple Full Gospel Church has prayer meeting every Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Clinchfield United Methodist Church, located at 151 Ridge Road, will hold a soup kitchen every Tuesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Marion Christian Academy has a prayer breakfast on the second Saturday of each month from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at the elementary campus, located at 551 Burma Road West. A simple breakfast will be served, for a donation, with emphasis on prayer concerns. For a prayer request, call 652-2033.

New Testament Baptist Church will have Spanish-speaking service on Sundays at 3 p.m.

Grace Baptist Church is again sponsoring the AWANA youth program. The program is held on Wednesday evenings at 6:45 p.m. For questions, call youth director Paul Robertson at 652-9581.

Concord United Methodist Church hosts the United Methodist Women meeting the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m. and the United Methodist Men meeting the third Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. For more information, call 433-5488.

Greenlee Baptist Church, located on U.S. 70 West, has a deaf ministry. Interpreters will be provided for the worship services every Sunday at 10:55 a.m. and 7 p.m. For more information, call Rev. Ned Webb at 724-4589.

McDowell Children's Ministry, a ministry for children of the community interested in participating in a life-changing program, meets twice monthly. For more information, call Daniel at 659-0095 during the day or 738-0733 in the evenings.
