It is absolutely astounding to think that we have instilled trust within our elected government officials and expected them to do their job willingly and successfully.
I find it embarrassing that we keep on electing the same people to do the same job that they couldn't get done in the first place. President Obama and his colleagues and acquaintances may be a perfect example of the corruption that is poisoning the republic known as America. During the campaign season last year, President Obama asserted that he would "fundamentally transform America." It now looks as if he has done so. Over the past couple of months, we have seen more businesses fail than those that have been restored and recovered and we have also witnessed a recent spike in the national unemployment rate as it went from 9.5 percent to 9.7 percent from the beginning to the end of August. We have been forced to hand over money that should have been promised to the next generation so that they can prosper and become successful to be used for wasteful government programs such as the Health Care Reform Bill that is known as HR 3200. Government has been obtaining power so that it can override our basic freedoms that we have all been accustomed to for so long so that it can push its own opinion(s) and orders down the American public's throats, and, finally, we have seen government officials downplay and create humor of the protests from concerned citizens of our country.
More and more Americans who once sat idly by and watched these horrendous events in government take place are now standing up and using their most powerful weapon: their voice.
We have seen our country gradually shift to something that it was never meant to be and to something that would be so unfamiliar to our founding fathers if they were living today.
The protests against out-of-control government spending and socialistic government programs are a sign of the rejuvenating of the American public.
We are beginning to realize that what is taking place today and right now is not about political parties or elections; It is about taking back what we had before. It is about becoming a stronger, more sensible and united people and understanding what America really is: a republic.
