Those needing an extra hand with home projects or repairs are in luck.
Carolina Cross Connection (CCC) is once again accepting applications from individuals in this area who need help with various projects.
For the last 24 years the group has reached out o communities across the Carolinas and helped families with different projects.
“We do small construction projects like porches, wheelchair ramps, interior and exterior painting and yard work,” said Daniel Kerr, CCC camp director.
The group is currently accepting applications from folks in McDowell County and already has a few projects lined up.
“We get referrals from Hospice and the Department of Social Service, but we also encourage anyone who thinks they need our help to contact us,” said Kerr.
After receiving an individual’s information the group then goes and assesses whether or not they can take on the project.
“We visit and get to know those that we’re helping a little better. During the visit we decide whether or not we can help,” said Kerr. “Last summer, we helped a lot of people from this area and this year we hope we can help even more.”
Those receiving help with various projects from CCC don’t have to worry about the cost. “All of our projects are done at no cost. We receive donations throughout the year that allows us to do these jobs at no cost,” stated Kerr.
CCC is currently asking anyone who thinks they need assistance with a project to contact them. They also would like to encourage anyone wanting to make a donation to contact them. For information, call 828- 247-1545 or visit carolinacrossconnection.org.
