A theft victim is willing to give lots of pennies for someone’s thoughts on how he can get his antique property back.
On Nov. 3, someone broke into the 819 Muddy Creek Road home of Kevin Connelly and took a 1925 antique cash register worth $500, 25 video games and a DVD player. The total value of the property was estimated at $1,000.
Then on Nov. 17, Charles Ray of 753 Muddy Creek Road reported that someone stole $10,300 worth of rare coins and pennies, a $200 mandolin and a $450 trombone from his residence. One of the rare coins was a Carolina elephant token.
David Connelly of Morganton, who is the father of Kevin Connelly, is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the return of the elephant coin and a $150 reward for information concerning the whereabouts of the cash register.
Anyone with information about the crimes or suspect is asked to call Detective Andy Manis at the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office at 652-2235 or McDowell County Crimestoppers at 65-CRIME. With Crimestoppers, your identity remains anonymous, and you could receive an additional cash reward.
