CANDLER – The McDowell Lady Titans jayvees’ mission to perfection became a reality Tuesday afternoon in a 75-26 rout of Enka in the season finale.

All but one of the 14 Lady Titans who played in Tuesday’s finale scored in the contest. Freshmen Riley Smith (3 rebounds) and Jessie Turbyfill scored 10 point each.

Kassie Brackett (4 assists, 4 rebounds) tallied eight points. Karly McRary (4 assists, 3 rebounds) and April Fulbright (4 rebounds, 2 assists) chipped in seven points each.

McDowell (16-0 overall, 12-0 MAC 4A/3A) scored the first 21 points of the game and never looked back. The Lady Titans grew the lead to 46-8 at the half.

As has been the case in many games during the season, the large margin allowed everyone on the roster to share substantial minutes on the floor.

Leslie Rice (6 rebounds) and Tamara Blanton scored five points each. Victoria Laney (3 rebounds), Erin Mills (3 rebounds), Victoria Nichols (5 rebounds), McKenzie Jarrett and Kayla Bailey (5 rebounds) accumulated four points apiece. Megan Morris rounded out the offense with three points and three assists.

The Lady Titans faced few challenges throughout the season. McDowell achieved an average margin of victory of 42.1 points per contest. Thirteen of the 16 wins this season were by 30 points or more, including four wins by 50 points or greater.

McDowell 64, Enka 47 (jayvee boys)

The McDowell Titan jayvees capped off the 2011-12 season Tuesday afternoon with a 64-47 win against Enka.

McDowell concludes the season with a strong 14-5 overall mark and a 9-3 slate in the Mountain Athletic Conference, losing twice to T.C. Roberson and once at A.C. Reynolds last week.

Three Titans scored in double figures in Tuesday’s win. Sophomore guard Raekwon Miller (6 assists, 3 rebounds) led all scorers with 15 points. Freshman Isaac Hillman (6 rebounds) tallied 13 points and sophomore Coleman Arrowood (6 rebounds) added 12 points.

Ryan Kincaid scored seven points and corralled eight rebounds as a starter. D.J. Martin (5 rebounds) and Patrick McClure netted five points each.

Freshman Brady Ruiz (2 rebounds) scored four points, Tyler Farmer added two and Dallas Myers scored one point.
