Old Fort's water customers are being warned to boil their water before drinking it or use bottled water after fecal coliform bacteria was found in the town's water supply on Tuesday.

Mooresville Ice Cream Co. is voluntarily recalling Half Gallon and Three Gallon containers of 'Chocolate Peanut Butter Delight' flavor of DeLuxe Ice Cream. This recall was initiated because the affected products contain peanut ingredients supplied by Peanut Corporation of America which may be contaminated with Salmonella.
Three more North Carolinians – one each from Brunswick, Caldwell and Catawba counties – have tested positive for the same strain of Salmonella typhimurium that has sickened more than 400 people nationwide, bringing North Carolina's total to four cases, public health officials reported today.
